REVIEW THESE TELLTALE SIGNS OF TROUBLE...
- 1. Shingle Damage
- Shingles that are curling at the edges or that appear to be raised or distorted.
Gaps or areas where shingles are missing.
- 2. Granule Loss
- Accumulation of granules in your gutters or downspouts. Shingles looking bald or discolored due to granule loss.
- 3. Leaks and Water Damage
- Water stains on ceilings or walls inside your house. Evidence of water damage in your attic.
- 4. Visible Sunlight in Your Attic
- If you can see sunlight through the roof boards in your attic, it indicates potential roof damage.
- 5. Home Interior
- Changes in energy efficiency with higher heating or cooling costs. Cracked or peeling paint on interior walls, which may indicate water damage.
- 6. Damaged Flashing
- Damaged or deteriorating flashing around chimneys, vents or other roof protrusions
- 7. Roof Valleys
- Damaged or deteriorating flashing in roof valleys. Water pooling in roof valleys after rainfall.
- 8. Sagging or Uneven Roof
- A visibly sagging roof may indicate structural issues or deterioration.
- 9. Multiple Repairs
- If your roof has undergone multiple repairs over the years, it may be a sign of ongoing issues.
- 10. Age of Roofing Material
- Knowing the age of the roof material can give an indication of its remaining lifespan. Different materials have different lifespans.
